About this deal

Christmas activities at WDP are always one of the highlights of our fundraising and community engagement calendar. We have been wonderfully spoilt for choice putting this unique game together,” says Jennifer Lau, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK. “It’s a board celebrating Warrington’s past and present and is very much reflective of the times.” The brand new Monopoly Warrington edition game features Walton Hall and Gardens. It has been unveiled as the Park Lane of Warrington. This is next to the Golden Gates, which takes the spot commonly known as Mayfair on the original board. It’s great to see so many much-loved landmarks, locations, organisations and charities have made it onto the board – the beautiful Walton Hall and Gardens, the Town Hall and Golden Gates, Old Market Square, Queen’s Gardens, the Transporter Bridge, and even the Pink Eye building! Following screams of excitement up came her sister Amy Skentelbery, who unbelievably also threw a seven, to even more excited screams!

UNIQUE GAME BOARD featuring a beautiful photo montage that shows off all the sights Warrington has to offerMONOPOLY first hit shelves in 1935 with the Racecar, Thimble, Boot, Top Hat, and Battleship among the original set of MONOPOLY tokens while the Scottie Dog and Wheelbarrow were added in the early 1950s. Although the brand has evolved over the past 87 years, the gameplay and iconography of the classic MONOPOLY game has remained unchanged, making it a timeless classic sure to be enjoyed by future generations.Today, MONOPOLY is the world’s favourite family game brand and is enjoyed by more than one billion players in 114 countries across the globe. All of the famous multi-coloured Monopoly property squares, like Mayfair and Park Lane from the classic original, are represented by Warrington landmarks and organisations. And so successful were they in lobbying MONOPOLY bosses to include the Bridge in the game that in true MONOPOLY style they have rolled a double. The Bridge will not only be featuring on its very own square .. but will star on the customised MONOPOLY money too. While Palm Springs, Dubai and Sydney are amongst the most glamorous and glitzy places on earth and honoured with their very own official MONOPOLY game, the company with the license to produce these unique editions is now bestowing the same honour on Warrington.

Halliwell Jones Stadium – this could feature on a blue square bearing in mind Super League Warrington Wolves’ club colours. Victoria Park – the sports venue is also the annual home of the popular Neighbourhood Weekender festival. The Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Jean Flaherty, says: “It’s exciting to start to see which locations have been included on the Warrington edition of this iconic game. Margaret and the group have done a fantastic job to ensure the Transporter Bridge has won a coveted place on the board. I can’t wait to find out which other landmarks will join them." Moore Nature Reserve – The beauty spot comprises almost 200 acres of woodland, meadows, lakes and ponds, and is home to many diverse species of plants, animals. A new plaque has been officially unveiled in the grounds of Walton Hall to mark nearly 30 years of Disability Awareness Day (DAD) being held at the venue.
