Well I never thought I would ever give a Lucy Score book less then 4 stars but here we are, I really didn’t enjoy this book. So let’s sum it up - the sex was like a day at the mud hole - dirty, wet, endless and ridiculous with a lot of monster trucks.

This is after he’d pushed her away for years and had gotten married and divorced to her best friend. But mostly Brick for doing unforgivable things to push the heroine away and, in my opinion, never making it right or better. Remi was fine in the beginning -- I thought she was an independent and spunky woman, but it didn't take long before she was sitting back and letting Brick take care of everything because only he could save everyone. Long story short (and in this case it was a really long story), what annoyed me most was, that despite his over the top protectiveness and possessiveness the hero chose his own emotional safety over the heroine's. On the flip side, the woman causing all of this need and conflict always had feelings for this man but every time something might have finally happened between them.All Characters (Barr one, who I loathed) were very likable, but omg the love that Brick and Remie shared was engulfing, mesmerizing and soooo hot! And what’s this creepy shit about the hero marrying ‘the love of his life’ best friend - ‘just to keep me away from you, Remi’, ‘because I didn’t deserve you Remi’. I loved the dual POVs and getting to see how Remi and Brick each saw themselves and how other people saw them.

Remi and Brick’s attraction/ crush they had for one another wasn’t just something out of the blue, it was something that was present even back when Remi was in high school. I really liked the small town vibe, Remi and Brick’s back and forth banter with each other, always challenging each other, never a dull moment with those two.There was romance, comedy, small town vibes, Grumpy/sunshine, suspense, mystery, lovable characters, and amazing plot! It went from intense slow burn, with so much longing, teasing, and soulful heart to an amazingly sexy and scorching hot romance. After about the 3rd one, I skipped every single sex scene cause I just didn’t care anymore 😂 I wanted to see the angst, hear their conversations, I wanted to read more about her painting because it was so interesting, but absolutely everything turned into sex when they were alone together they must have been exhausted! but the h having once been with his brother and him having married her best friend is a little too much keeping it in the family for me.
