Jan Becher - Karlovarská Becherovka is a company with a tradition dating back two centuries and few liquor brands have an origin as long-lasting as Becherovka.Of course, we cooperate with well-known suppliers of herbs and spices who guarantee the best quality; nevertheless, while the quality remains unchanged, the taste may vary slightly.

It is perfect chilled as a digestif, with tonic or as a characteristic ingredient in modern day mixology. Low in alcohol content Cynar Artichoke can be enjoyed straight or in cocktails, blends or to spike beer.

Although it's traditionally been drunk as a digestif, Becherovka is a versatile drink that is today enjoyed in many ways. Before final filtration and bottling, Becherovka spends several weeks in these barrels to settle a little and to become mellow and fine. Little has changed about the business since it’s origins in 1807 when it was founded in 1807 by the Bechers as a family enterprise. But the ingredients are not the only factor responsible for the final appearance, taste and aroma of Becherovka.It is this ethos and attitude that we are proud to say is embedded across our company and infused in everything we do. This is achieved by fermenting the grape must for a slightly shorter time to preserve the natural sugars in the fruit, which give the Fine White its flavours of honey and nectar and its slightly richer amber hue. Made with a secret blend of herbs and spices, this drink has a distinctively bitter and spicy taste, with notes of cinnamon, anise, and cloves. Numerous studies have shown that this drink may be of therapeutic character if it is drunk in small quantities of special small glasses. We have many oak barrels – small, dark ones from the beginning of the 19th century, but also giant barrels only a few years old.
