My first thoughts on the audio book were that the narrator, Becca Battoe, did not whatsoever convey the mild personality of Anastasia Steele. Plus, I had a few people tell me they couldn't wait for my reviews of the second and third Fifty books. In this one, she asserts her limits far more, hoping that Grey can abandon some aspects of his lifestyle to join her as a lover rather than a dominant partner.

But desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. He starts freaking out on Ana, telling her she can't leave, she means everything to him, he needs her, blah blah blah, and then. Maureen Dowd described the book in The New York Times as being written "like a Brontë devoid of talent", and said it was "dull and poorly written". In March 2012, branches of the public library in Brevard County, Florida, removed copies of Fifty Shades of Grey from their shelves, with an official stating that it did not meet the selection criteria for the library and that reviews for the book had been poor. You're not used to this consensual punishment thing (not to mention the fact that you never explicitly consented in the first place) and your man is enjoying viciously turning your ass into a slab of raw beef, and you forget there's an easy way out of it.She still finds it difficult to understand why a gorgeous man like Christian wants plain little old her, but she knows that she loves her Fifty to distraction and can't live without him. I loved watching Christian become the person he's supposed to be, someone a little carefree, happy and most of all loved - and all this is down to Ana. The New Zealand Herald stated that the book "will win no prizes for its prose" and that "there are some exceedingly awful descriptions", but it was also an easy read; "(If you only) can suspend your disbelief and your desire to – if you'll pardon the expression – slap the heroine for having so little self respect, you might enjoy it.

Whether it is her need to try to help him recover from his past or just the raw physical attraction/needs she has , she can't stay away. Exchanging Valentines can be an awkward process, especially when you consider “Vinegar Valentines” and other snarky sentiments - whatever your tastes, enjoy the sweet and sour cards alike in this gallery! That is not the proper response to your boyfriend's revelation that he likes to abuse and sex you because you look like his mom! But while Grey wrestles with his inner demons, Ana must make the most important decision of her life.Ana has told this man with a horrific past that she needs distance and he needs to sort his stuff out. His attempts to climb out of his situation and pursue a healthier mental lifestyle are greeted with enthusiasm. Daunted by the dark secrets of the tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Ana Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new career with a US publishing house. Metro News Canada wrote that "suffering through 500 pages of this heroine's inner dialogue was torturous, and not in the intended, sexy kind of way".
